ABOUT LAST NIGHT: With the Indianapolis Indians down to their last strike in the bottom of the 10th inning, Rodolfo Castro and Diego Castillo went back-to-back with hard-hit line drives to defeat the Louisville Bats in walk-off fashion on Tuesday night, 5-4. Castro and Castillo were central in both beginning and ending the game for the Indians. Castro ignited the offense with a triple on T.J. Zeuch’s first pitch of the game, and Castillo followed with a run-scoring ground-out. Following a two-out, towering home run off the bat of Jose Barrero in the top of the 10th to give Louisville a lead, Indianapolis was quickly down to its last out following two punchouts by Pedro Payano to open the final offensive half. On an 0-2 count, Castro continued a hot stretch at the plate with a game-tying double into the right-field corner to plate Mason Martin. It was his first Triple-A walk-off hit and the Indians’ seventh this season after recording 10 in 2021.

CASTRO CLUBS IT: Rodolfo Castro was central to the Indians offensive efforts last night, going 2-for-5 with a triple early and a double late to score the first and final runs of the ballgame. The infielder is currently working a six-game hitting streak and has hit safely in nine of his last 10, six of which have been two-hit performances. Since 7/16, Castro is hitting .341 (15-for-44) with three doubles, a triple, two home runs and more runs scored (6) than driven in (5). The switch-hitter has been on a tear…
