GOING DTS FOR THE WEEK: The Renegades return to ShoreTown Ballpark this week for a six-game series with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws. The last time Hudson Valley played in Lakewood, they secured the first six-game sweep in franchise history, defeating the Claws in every game from July 4-10. Overall, the Renegades have won nine straight against the BlueClaws, and 10 of the last 11.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Renegades broke a three-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a well-balanced 8-2 win over Jersey Shore. Eduardo Torrealba, Carlos Narvaez, and Trey Sweeney all hit home runs for Hudson Valley. Narvaez, Pat DeMarco and Jasson Domínguez all collected two hits, while the Hudson Valley bullpen trio of Nelson Alvarez, Ryan Miller and Charlie Ruegger combined for 6.2 innings of two-hit, one-run ball to close out the win.

THEY TRY TO MAKE ME GO TO REHAB: Today’s starter RHP Shawn Semple is with Hudson Valley on a Minor League rehab assignment. He is coming back from a core injury suffered in April with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He is the second rehabber of the year for the Renegades, joining Major League rehabber Ben Rortvedt, who was with the Gades last month.

BUT I SAID NO, NO, NO: After Tuesday night’s performance (2.0 IP, 5 K), RHP Ryan Miller has struck out 10 batters in 4.0 innings in his last two appearances out of the bullpen (22.5 K/9). Miller had his contract purchased by the Yankees from the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association on May 19.

OFFENSE IN RICH SUPPLY: Renegades OF Grant Richardson put together a fantastic week against Brooklyn, and some would say was robbed of the South Atlantic League Player of the Week honors. In four games against the Cyclones, Richardson hit .538/.625/1.385 (7-for-13) with 6 R, 2 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 2 BB and 4 K. He went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday’s series opener.

ON THE DeMARCO: Renegades OF Pat DeMarco is 9-for-17 at the plate in his last five games played, raising his season batting line from .208/.250/.252 to .233/.269/.292. The run includes his first home run of the year on Sunday, July 24 at Wilmington, a solo home run off Jose…
