Honeycutt Named Preseason All-America By Perfect Game

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina sophomore outfielder Vance Honeycutt earned his second preseason All-America honor Thursday, receiving first-team accolades from Perfect Game.
Honeycutt was also named preseason first-team All-America by Collegiate Baseball in December after being a consensus Freshman All-America recipient last season.
Honeycutt helped lead the Tar Heels to a remarkable season in 2022, which included the program’s second ACC tournament title in three seasons and its 10th Super Regional appearance.
The Salisbury, N.C. native finished his rookie campaign slashing .296/.409/.672 with 25 home runs, 57 RBIs and 29 stolen bases and became the first player in school history with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in the same season. Honeycutt ranked second among all NCAA Division I freshmen in home runs, runs scored and total bases, and was third in slugging percentage and stolen bases.
