EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern baseball announced its 2023 schedule today. The Wildcats are slated for 52 games, including 24 against Big Ten opponents.
The ‘Cats season will begin on February 17 at Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. The ‘Cats first month of the season includes games against Texas State (Feb. 17-19), Gardner-Webb (Feb. 24), Presbyterian (Feb. 25), USC Upstate (Feb. 26), Louisiana Tech (Mar. 3-5), UIC (Mar. 7), and Saint Louis (Mar. 10-11).
The Wildcats home opener will take place with a doubleheader against Butler on March 18. Following Saturday’s doubleheader, the ‘Cats and Bulldogs will finish the series off on Sunday, March 19.
NU’s Big Ten schedule includes road series at Purdue (Mar. 31- Apr. 2), Nebraska (Apr. 14-16), Michigan State (Apr. 28-30), and Michigan (May 12-14).
Northwestern’s Opening Big Ten Home Series will be the weekend of April 7 against Illinois. In addition to hosting Illinois, Rutgers (April 21-23), Indiana (May 5-7), and Iowa (May 18-20) will all make trips to Evanston.
The Wildcats will play a number of midweek contests throughout the season, hosting NIU (Mar. 28), UIC (Apr. 11), Milwaukee (Apr. 25), and 2022 College World Series Participant Notre Dame (May 16).
